Happy New Year to all WIP500 participants! *Congratulations* to those who have met or exceeded their daily goals!! Keep that motivation going – who knows? – perhaps I’ll be seeing your name in the eBook and/or standard publication world in 2013!? Isn’t this one of the most amazing creative ideas ever? Thank you to Cara for the challenge and motivation this has given me to put down in writing something has been drifting around in my head for nearly 15 years!! Never feel discouraged, disappointed or overwhelmed with this challenge – just get those 500 (average) words a day out of your head and down in print. If you ever catch yourself doing a face-palm, I’m the worst person to contact, but I know Cara will be there for inspiration and even a shoulder to cry on. Even if you’re not a seriously aspiring writer (which would include me), this challenge gives you something to look forward to each day, and at the end of the year, you can look back and see something tangible you accomplished this year!! Good luck and keep those keys tapping!!

I think I’m going to need to aggregate my 500 a day into 100 a day Monday to Friday and 1500 a day on Saturday and Sunday. I can’t keep my eyes open long enough to write anything at the end of the day. Well I could, but it would be drivel.

Rosie, hang in there! This isn’t about pushing yourself on weekdays when it’s all you can do to crawl into bed. Work it out in a way that makes it doable for you! Have fun while you write – that’s a purpose and a goal – and I, for one, am cheering you on!
The weekend is nigh, so don’t let the week beat you up! I’m here if you need a shoulder or a session of #wordmongering! Give me a holler!!

Okay… I misunderstood what the figure 2500 was. It says goal words, is that for the day, the week, the month?
My goals for words per day is 1500-2000 My min. for a week 10,000

The goal words is based on your start date and 500 words per day. So on your first day, your goal was 500, day 2 was 1000, etc. Your actual words is the sum of the counts you’ve given me. Hope this clears it up for you.

I don’t know if it is right as I don’t keep a count anywhere – but I do tweet my count usually. I told you about the 30th /1st already, but on the 3rd april was a 920 count. I also submitted for the 6th, but it would have been after the above update, so should be OK.
