Okay, so Lillie’s prompt this week is ‘Your choice.’ I know what she really means, but I’m going with a literal interpretation…and giving this to my WIP, Safer Waters.

“What is it you want from me, Claire?” I couldn’t take my eyes from the apparition haunting the decks of my ship.

“It’s complicated, Jon,” she murmured, “and I’m certain you won’t thank me for asking.”

“Don’t make my choices for me, Claire. I’m a man grown and can determine my own path if you just tell me what I can do to help you.”

Thanks for stopping by… comments/feedback are always welcome!

It’s amazing how much can be conveyed in just three sentences of dialogue. A snippet that begs for more to be revealed.

  2. Intriguing and fascinating!

  3. Claire says:

Selfishly, I was drawn in within the first couple words because my name is Claire. Unselfishly, I was also drawn in because of your stunning use of emotions. I would love to see this as a longer work!

Thanks, Claire! I think you’ve a beautiful name (obviously). The longer story is shaping up. Can’t wait to share it. :)

  4. Such an interesting snippet. Mysterious :)
