Honorable Mentions
You guys all know the usual rules by now… three HMs. Well, it’s a credit to these four that I really couldn’t weed one out. They were each so different from each other and I genuinely enjoyed them all.
Wakefield Mahon | @WakefieldMahon
Yikes, man! Karma means serious business in this tale, and I will definitely steer clear of any strapping young carnies, lol. [read more]
Bullish | @bullishink
Pure backwoods poetry.
I loved this ode to the biggest chance of all: love. [read more]
Lisa McCourt Hollar | @jezri1
Lisa, I’m so used to horror from you, so this was a real treat. I love your jaded character finding love in the sparkling blue eyes of the valet! [read more]
@LupusAnthropos
Lupus, you opened with a great hook with the intelligent bacteria, and I loved your ending here. [read more]

Week 32 Judge’s Pet
Siobhan Muir | @SiobhanMuir

Siobhan, I’m fast becoming a fan of Cassie and Jack as their story evolves in your flash tales, and I really look forward to reading the final work. You snagged the JP prize this week for really giving me that star-crossed feel as Cassie tries to decide how to handle this old flame returning (and rekindling) in her life.
The screams of the delighted patrons washed over Cassie as she strode through the visiting carnival. A loop-de-loop roller coaster with tiers of seats whooshed past, more shouts of mock terror filling the cotton candy air. She’d worn a v-necked t-shirt and capris to fit in with the crowd, but she’d never felt so naked in her life.
Cassie used her cell to hide touching her earpiece. “Pierce, got anything yet?”
Jack wandered around here, somewhere, too. When he’d dressed for the op in a turquoise t-shirt and faded jeans, she thought she’d swallow her tongue. Lust and pure feminine appreciation roared through her as he’d shoved a .38 into his left boot.
“Nothing yet. Checking carousel now.”
Damn, even his voice made her body tingle. You have to let go of him, Tucker. She knew that intellectually, but her heart refused to believe. Jack had walked away nearly a decade before, and he only used her to get to Sebastian Leech now, despite his sweet words about marrying her.
“Don’t fall for it, Tucker,” she murmured. “It’ll never be the right time.”
“Target sighted.” Jack’s voice snapped her into action. “At the carousel.”
Cassie bolted into the crowd.

Week 32 Champ
Rebekah Postupak | @postupak

Rebekah. I enjoyed your tale and it kept me going waiting to see who this third child would become. How awesome that he saves the day! And he’s known all along the greatness he was meant for! Excellent tale and btw, I am a HUGE fan of superheroes.
“The Third”
The first boy was born with blond curls and wise, blue eyes.
The second boy was born with thick hair and long, slender fingers.
But the third boy emerged bald and grinning.
The first boy grew up to become a chemist, whose brilliant formulas brought about miracles. The second boy grew up to become a surgeon, whose gifted hands never failed to heal.
Nobody was sure the third boy would even make it to adulthood.
“He’s a little—off,” said his parents.
His teachers agreed. “He’s special.”
His friends disagreed. “Star-crossed.”
“It’s just not my time yet,” grinned the boy.
It’s true the boy seemed to carry more than his share of trouble. By sixteen, he’d witnessed three burglaries, endured twelve car wrecks, and escaped from four burning buildings.
When at eighteen he wanted to ride the new coaster, everyone balked, knowing what might happen. He insisted confidently, vehemently.
“You have to let go of me,” he said, laughing. “It’s my time.”
The subsequent disaster as one car broke free and hurtled groundward horrified but surprised no one.
His launching into the air and carrying the car to safety, however, surprised them all.
All except the smiling boy.

Congratulations, Siobhan and Rebekah. Claim your badges and display them with pride! (If you need any alterations for color/background, just let me know, or check the #MenageMonday page for a white background version).
Pass on the great news. Google Plus, Twitter, FB, smoke signals. I’m not picky. Check out all of this week’s offerings here, and be sure to come back next #MenageMonday!
